Most people have dozens of applications downloaded on their  phones, but only use a handful of them regularly. This shows us that while there might be an app for everything, only a few are useful for our daily lives.

Bender strives to provide solutions for every problem as well. We understand the importance of having a solution that not only meets, but completely exceeds standards and regulations, which is why we offer Isolated Power Systems built to exceed both UL-1047 and NFPA-99 standards.

This year, we are undergoing a digital transformation known as Hospital 4.0. This represents substantial improvements and new processes we hope to achieve under the NEC 417-160. We hope to achieve a total communication change between our products and the maintenance and hospital staff.

  • Gather Information: NEC. Art 517-160 b), 1) requires the Line Isolation Monitor (LIM) to activate its alarm when the current reaches 5mA. Bender's automated system, compatible with your cellphone, allows the signals and trends of the isolation level to be integrated in real time in each of the monitors installed in each operating room and intensive care unit.
  • Failure Identification: Typically, when a problem occurs, 75% of the time is typically spent to identify the source of the failure. Bender's fault identification system (EDS Series) allows you to immediately identify which circuit is experiencing a loss of insulation within the operating room or an intensive care unit. With the EDS 441, it is possible to identify which equipment has deterioration in its insulation, even if it is a portable piece of equipment. Using a trend report, this information can be known before the Line Isolation Monitor  issues an alarm.
  • Current Monitoring: Know the real consumption of current for each circuit. When the equipment in the OR is  connected to the Isolated Power Systems, you can easily identify abnormal consumption due to mechanical problems. The goal is to identify the signs of a possible failure early. The knowledge of the current of consumption related to the operating time will also help maintenance know when to schedule the maintenance of the equipment based on its hours of service.
  • Integration of Complementary Systems: Thanks to Bender's communication platforms and special dialogue screens for the medical environment, it is possible to integrate all systems that are part of the critical area of the hospital. This contributes to the fulfillment of other regulations related to health areas such as NFPA 110 and NFPA 70, which refers to the starting of generators in less than 10 seconds, and other regulations regarding air quality, oxygen, temperature, UPS's, transfer boards, lighting controls, etc.
  • Real Time Supervision: Thanks to our communication interfaces, the information that is available on a dedicated screen inside the operating room is the same that will be available on the cell phone and on any computer with access to the webpage. The great contribution to the Digital Transformation in Isolated Power Systems is that BENDER has a tailor-made suit according to the specific needs of each health institution.”
